Camping is in the future!

Happy Tuesday to all. It has been a busy week or so. The weather has been gorgeous here the last few days, a bit hot though....80's plus. Not complaining, just nature needs to turn the heat down a bit, lol. Over the past few weeks I have gone and purchased a tag-a-long pop up camper. I have always wanted one so on Craigslist I found this one. It is in good shape for being a 1979 model. there is a few changes that I want to make but other than that I'm fine with it. We got it set up in my back yard and have enjoyed spending time back there recently. We're still home, but we're away from home in a sense. Very relaxing to go back there and swing on my new swing, and later in the evening Ed and I play cards in the camper. It has a stove, sink ,refrig and electric for it. The only thing that I can play is 500..I'm not a card player, lol.

Sorta got the ole Blahhh Bug happening. Sometimes I wonder why I try so hard just to be knocked back down. I should be thrilled that I have my family, a job but when there is the extras in life that you want and don't receive even though I work and strive for them, I just don't understand why someone who hasn't worked but two years in their life and has been on welfare the rest and now is at the age of 43...going on a month long vacation at a camp resort...states they have enough food cause they got their food stamps.....and has complete medical insurance, ......seems to just go with the flow. I guess it bothers me the most because it is a near relative who happens to live across the street from me. I have several health issues that I deal with everyday that seem to be getting worse but can't go get them checked because of no insurance. There are days that it doesn't bother me a bit and then there are times like this. I know I am to trust in the Lord and have faith...but is faith going to help when I can't continue on? I don't know....just wish this would go away.

Well anyway, here are some pics of Ed sitting at the camper in my back yard.....they were taken over the weekend when it was so beautiful.

Hope everyone has a good week and enjoy.

Sounds delicious

Came across these two recipes that sound just wonderful and easy. Take a look!

Sour Cream Bacon Chicken

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 8 hours,

* 8 bacon slices

* 8 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

* 2 (10 oz) cans roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup

* 1 cup sour cream

* 1/2 cup flour

Wrap one slice of bacon around each boneless chicken breast and place in a 3-4 quart crockpot. In medium bowl, combine condensed soups, sour cream, and flour and mix with wire whisk to blend. Pour over chicken. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours until chicken and bacon are thoroughly cooked. Serves 8

Crockpot Pork with Cabbage

Red cabbage and pork are natural partners. The sweetness of the cabbage really complements the juicy savory flavor of the pork roast.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 8 hours,

* 4 cups shredded red cabbage

* 1 onion, chopped

* 1/2 cup brown sugar

* 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

* 1/2 tsp. salt

* 1/4 tsp. pepper

* 3 pound boneless pork shoulder roast

Combine cabbage, onion, brown sugar, and vinegar in 4 to 4 quart slow cooker. Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper and brown in heavy skillet, about 5-6 minutes total, turning until browned on all sides. Place pork in slow cooker; cover, and cook on Low for 7-8 hours until pork registers 160 degrees F. Serves 6

Sorry pics are scrambled.

This is what I came across today at the thrift store. The three piece whatchamacallits $4.99, lol,I believe they are copper, I have hanging at the fireplace, there's a little decorative bird cage, and two molds for the pantry cakes that I will get to make once I get my cupboard together that I want to make.

Easter was good for us. We all stayed home and I put together, along with Ed and my Dad, a swing with canopy that folds down in like a futon bed . Can't wait until the weather gets better to try it out. Warm sun, slight breeze, and just swinging away!! Sounds heavenly.

Well gonna go and finish dinner. We are having steak cooked in mushroom soup with mushroom pieces, peas, french onions, and potatoes. It smells sooooo good.

Everyone have a great evening.

Some more of my thrifty finds

The first pic is what I have found lately. I'm catching up with everything that has already been discovered, lol. I finally found a spoon rack yesterday for $1.99, the three little frames were $.30/piece, a little onion basket...the tag says garlic basket though, candle holder, and small three peg rack, and the shopping bad came from a farm that's near here that I love to visit. I just had to have one, $2.99.
The white shutters are just sitting there for now. I got them at GW yesterday for $2.99/piece. Of course they need primmed up a bit and I think I will stain the cloth on them also. I got 4 of them and they don't quite fit so I ahve to see what I can do with them to fit.

And Tucker got his pic in there also. He was watching me load the pics on here, lol, silly kitty!

It is a bright sunny day here, bit chilly, some wind. The funerals are for the officers that were killed last weekend. So many people have shown up to pay their respects for them. I have to get a blue light for one of my electric candles. It's for the policemen/women that serve and protect us. I want to let it shine in honor of all those that are in harms way for us. God bless them.

Well that's all for now...I washed two comforters and they are on the clothesline drying. Shouldn't take to long with the wind.
Everyone had a good day.

My Gatherings

Well I have been saving up on my GW finds and going to be doing some re-dos here soon. I have finished two and since it will be SNOWing!!!! this week, it's our Easter snow, I can work on a few.
It has been such a beautiful day here in SW PA. Hate for it to end. I also found an Early American stencil book. It shows some awesome pics of them.

The pond is coming along but I still have a bit to do yet. Bought some plants too but can't plant those just yet. Discovered that when it rained all the muddy water went into the pond, now I have to figure out what to do to stop that from happening.

Was going to make some whoopie pies today but discovered I needed more powdered sugar so I guess that will be for on Tuesday.

Can't believe that Easter is just around the corner. I have to go shopping here soon for our meal that God has blessed us with in being able to buy. I think we are going to have ham, potato salad, a vegetable, pickled eggs with beets, buns, cabbage rolls, and some kind of dessert...not quite sure what just yet.

Here is some pics of the saved re-dos....

and a few already finished.

Well that's about all for now, have to finish some laundry and get ready for tomorrow,,,ughhhh Monday already. Everyone have a good week!!
