Christmas Eve at my sisters

Hello to all!
My sister made lasagna, salad, and buns with Christmas cookies of all sorts. We all gathered in her living room which is hard for all of us to get in there. We have very small rooms.

This is my sister opening her gifts up

This is John, bil, and my daughter Ashley.

This is Amy, my niece, and Todd, her bf, and her baby is due in February.

This is Christina, Mariah's mommy- in the back ground, and my daughter Ashley.

This is Miss Mariah, such a precious baby....

Mariah was getting sleepy so her Daddy put her in the swing.

This is my son, Tim, and his girlfriend Andrea

I hope everyone's Christmas was joyous. Now comes the New Year.

Many blessings and good fortune for all.

O CHristmas Tree

Not much decorating this year but I did manage to get my 4 foot tree together. Just some simple prim ornaments and white lights.
Here where I live is about to get some nasty weather so if any one lives on the east coast northern part, keep safe and be careful.

Until next time,

Mariah's pics and Santa Photo

My Great Niece....

This is Mariah already two months old. She went to see santa and didn't cry! She took a good pic. Her hair looks red on here but she is a true blondie. I got to see her a few days ago she's gettin so big. In the top pic she is sticking her bottom lip out because my sister was trying to wake her up. Here in the pic to the left she's sleeping on her shoulder. She looks so peaceful.

Haven't got into doing to much decorating. I have the Bah Humbug mood happenin. I do have a 4 foot tree up and with the lights on but that's as far as I got. The weather here has been rain, and rain with clouds. So dreary. They say some sun coming on Sunday. I hope so.

I've been enjoying all of everyone's blogs recently just reading them. Everyone's so busy and decorating. Everything look wonderful.

Well it's the weekend and I hope everyone has a good one. Keep safe and take care.

Hugs and smiles

Wasn't a pretty day but.....

It Surely wasn't a pretty day out today but the scenic lake has some beautiful shots. Sorry they are scrambled everywhere.

Today was definitely a day to stay in but I knew I wanted to take a ride and get a few pics since I haven't been for a ride in awhile. When you don't feel good you don't want to do a thing.

During the day I watched the Steeler vs. Cleveland Browns game and made some homemade beef vegetable soup. I'm saving my serving for tomorrow. I just know it will taste better then. We had pizza for the game so that's enough until tomorrow.

Sure glad tomorrow will be a bit sunny. It's going down to 30 degrees so after that we are having our Indian summer. Four days of 60 degree they tell us. It's time to finish up the outdoor yard clean-up for winter.

Well, not much more to post....

Enjoy the pics and everyone have a good evening.

Hugs and smiles,

Great soup recipe for fall

How's everyone been doing? The weather here is sure chillin'. I have to step it up and get outside for some clean-up. Leaves and other things are blowing in to the yard.

Still haven't been feeling up to par. I had the breathing test and it wasn't good so now I have to inhale SPIRIVA once a day.
My daughter finally graduated as a Massage Therapist a few weeks ago with high honors. She's such a trip. WHen it was her turn to go up and receive her diploma, their angle was in the opposite directions for a picture so I yelled out "this way Ash!, and you'll never guess what she did.......she yelled back..."What Ma!" The whole audience laughed and the Dean laughed saying "she really wants that picture doesn't she, lol." Here's a few pics. She hates her picture taken.

The last photo is where everyone is laughing...............

My son and his girlfriend and I took her to Red Lobster for dinner afterward. She's glad school is over, now the fun begins....a job. She wants to start out on her own but I told her to work for someone first to get some experience together and then go one by herself.

Came across this recipe and thought I would post it....It's from Lots of great recipes on there.

This recipe is awesome. Now that the weather is getting chilly, I love to eat soup. This recipe is a keeper.

I'm hoping to get out and take some local picts of the area and the color changing. This weekend is supposed to be ok so maybe then I can do that.

Well not much more happenin. I hope you all have a great rest of the week.

Smiles and hugs,

Just a few prim shots

Just a few shots. Haven't been felling well again since my bout with an asthma attack, so they think that's what it was. Have to go for what they call PFT's....breathing test on the 21st. Just can't figure out what makes the heaviness in the chest once I'm awake.

The patient that I have been with for the last 5 years passed away the other day. She had lung cancer and smoked until her last day. I'll never understand completely why some do that but I guess they figure it's to late now to quit. I have to file for unemployment until the agency that I work for has someone for me to go to.

I'm posting just a few pics.....just haven't been feeling like it to do anything. When it's hard to breathe, it feels like just doing something small is a big effort. I hope they find out just what exactly is wrong. So for now, take a peal and hopefully I may have some more later on.

Enjoy the day and God bless.

Hugs and smiles, Kathy

Jibber Jab and some pics...sorry post is long

Hello everyone, and good afternoon!

I have been playing around with my blog and oh booy! Things didn't work at first but I was able to get at least a new background. I love this one. I did find plenty that I liked also. I want to add different graphics to it, but that I still have to figure out.

Not to bad of a day here in SWPA. Just a little warm, and always the threat of rain. I started to can some stewed tomatoes the other day and had to go and get some more jars. I'm going to can some sweet pickles too. May even try some blackberry!
The other day my dad and I put up a new screen door. It's a wooden t-bar, old fashioned looking and now I have to paint it. I like the red, but also thought of mustard yellow. I like to be different.

Here are some pics..I'll try to label them as I go...

Christina's baby shower cake. ( My nephew's girlfriend)

My beautiful cardinal that comes to eat.

This is Christina. This is what she does alll the time, lol. But she has only a belly and the rest of her is the same, lucky girl. She's almost 7 months.

See! All belly! And she is having a girl.

And this is Amy, my other niece. She is just 3 months along and soooo tired! Boy, what she has to look forward too, lol.

This is my sister. She has three kids, Nicole, Roger jr, and Amy. All are expecting babies within 6 months of each other......What a blessing!

This is my screen door that I need to paint...the other needs painted also...heck the whole frame needs painted too, lol! But I love the old spring closed screen door just like the old fashioned "juice store" we used to have here in the patch.

My hanging basket of flowers my dad gave me from the local fruit stand that they were throwing away. When he brought it, well it was pretty dead....waaalaaa! It's a beautiful hanging plant.

My scarecrow on garden duty!

And finally, the fruits of my labor...stewed tomatoes. Sorry about the pic, it didn't turn out to well.

So with all the pics and joyous time in our lives right now, I shall say...

Have a great evening and God bless!

Until next time!

Smiles and hugs!

Happy Birthday and ramblings

This is my dear daughter who is celebrating her 19th birthday today.
After she was done with school, she wanted to go to Chinese for dinner so we went over there and had a good meal and conversation. She didn't want a birthday cake so we ate a little square of cake from the buffet. The only thing she wanted for her birthday was a microphone headset for her computer so over to Staples we went. She found one for $22
dollars so I hope it works ok if not back it goes and we will try another brand.

It was rainy most of the day but now it is 7pm and the sun is shining brightly. Not a common sight, lol.

Our local county fair is in the upswing as of yesterday. I runs thru until Aug. 8th I believe. Ed and I are going to check it out probably tomorrow or Sunday. There's a local band that plays great oldies and Bucky Covington from American Idol is there one evening so it will be interesting to hear him sing. Of course I have to try the funnel cakes and pork sandwiches that a local town sells. They are always good. I like to see who wins the ribbons for canning, sewing, and all of the homemade items that people enter into the contests. I always s ay I am going to also and never have yet.... maybe next year.

The Steelers training camp is also going on in Latrobe, at St. Vincent College. I love football and would really love to go see them practice. Maybe I can get Ed to take me there. I have been wanting to go for years.

I see that alot of fall and Halloween creations are popping up on blogs. I't hard to believe that this year has gone by so fast.

I haven't really been thrift shopping lately. I have cut way back in realizing that I have no room for what I buy. I have things in bins waiting to be finished and they may end up being winter projects.

Well, it's the beginning of the weekend and I hope everyone enjoys themselves.

Take care and be safe.

Smiles and hugs
